There will be four Bank competitions this year, the fishery will be closed to bank anglers on the dates of the competitions. If anyone would like to be a Marshal for any of the competitions just let me know.

TROUTMASTERS FISH-OFF
- Sunday 28th March 2010
Qualifiers for the troutmasters fish off will be notified by Trout Fisherman Magazine. The fishery will be open as normal on the day as the small number of competitors will not interfere with other anglers.

Intermediate Fly-fishing Course Sorry course full

Mainly revolving around casting issues, this course is designed to meet the needs of fly fishers with some experience who wish to progress. With small groups, content can be adapted to meet individual needs. There is also the opportunity to address problems and faults that are difficult to solve alone. Common requests include: -

The flies and the techniques that catch fish at Lockwood will be covered during a practical session on the water.
You will spend some time fishing under the watchful eye of your coach.
You can carry on fishing at the end of the course.
You can have another full day fishing at Lockwood for half price.

WINNERWEB challenge FISH FOR CASH

Cash competition open to all entrants aged 18 or over
Entry into a heat is £40
Entry into the final is £25 (includes hog roast and soft drinks)
The top ten from each heat go through to the final
You may enter more than one heat if you fail to qualify - at a reduced entry fee of £25
Every heat entrant receives a goody bag sponsored by top equipment manufacturers and retailers.
Each heat winner receives £300 cash, the sportsman netting the biggest fish of the day also receives £10 per lb caught
The Grand Final winner receives £2,000 cash.
Match Rules
This is a pegged competition with the pegs and sections being marked.
You will draw for pegs and fish timed sessions throughout the day. The beginning and end of each timed session will be signified by the sounding of a horn.
Fishing will commence upon the sounding of the horn and not before.
Anglers MUST remain on their pegs and not move until the sounding of horns.
On the sound of the horn you will move to your next allotted peg.
Fishery rules apply.
Landing nets must be used in all cases and fish intended for release should be carefully unhooked in shallow marginal water.
Only trout may be caught and counted as part of the bag / qualifying weight limit. Badly hooked/damaged/exhausted fish - any fish that is caught and you feel will not release successfully MUST be killed and WILL count towards your bag limit.
Match officials will enforce this rule and you will be ordered to dispatch any live fish they deem unsuitable for release. It is hoped that all competitors will act responsibly and humanely with regard to this ruling.
A six fish bag limit will apply with any six fish counting. Therefore unlimited catch and release is allowed as part of the fish selection process. Fishing must STOP when the sixth fish is killed and you must remain in position until your fish are collected by a match official. You should then return to the fishery office area as quickly as possible and should not wander the banks, potentially disturbing remaining competitors.
The match end will be signified by a long sounding horn. A competitor must cease fishing at the finishing signal and all competitors must remain in position, even if you have no fish killed. All fish bags will be collected and clearly marked by fishery staff. When you have been seen by us and your catch recorded you may leave the bank.
Any angler playing a fish upon intermittent moves and/or the final whistle will be allowed 10 minutes to land and handle their catch.
The winner will be decided by the heaviest weight of dead fish there are no time bonuses. In the event of a tiebreak, the bag containing the largest fish will be deemed the winner.
PRIZES Heat and final winners will be paid by WinnerWeb cheque.
NO competitor shall have live or dead fish in his/her possession before a match. All competitors must submit to a search if requested by a marshal / match official.
There may be call for the organisers to amend the rules. Should this happen, the match organisers decision will be final and binding.
The number of qualifiers from each heat will depend upon the level of entry at that venue.
Generally, a competitor may wade provided that the water does not extend above the knees unless he/she can touch the bank with fingertips, in which case the water can extend above the knees. Wading is not permitted more than 5 metres either side of the peg. Rules on wading may change according to specific rules at individual fisheries,
No competitor may move his/her peg or exchange his/her peg or draw card with another without the head marshals official consent.
All mobile phones must be switched off and not used at all for any purpose during the match. Use of mobiles shall result in disqualification.
Times may vary according to individual fishery rules.
Other fishery rules will apply on each match day and shall be communicated to entrants on the day.

Competitors must sign-in on the morning of each match to signify that they have read and understood the match rules.
Competitions will be fished and judged under match and individual fishery rules as advertised. All decisions of the WinnerWeb head marshal shall be final and binding on the competitors and no correspondence will be entered into.
Competition Entrants can only qualify from one heat regardless of the amount of heats that they enter. The first event at which the entrant qualifies from will be taken as his qualifying entry to the next round.
Rules may be amended slightly to allow for logistics or conditions at each venue. Any rules amended will be done so in consultation with the fishery affected and will be to refine and increase the effectiveness of each day at each individual fishery. These changes shall be clearly advertised and notified to each entrant on the day.
