Prospects for Opening Day 6th March 2010

The Fishery will open at 8am and close at 6.00pm
We still have four boats for the 6th and seven for 7th
The fishing should be excellent with around 1200 rainbows from 1lb 8oz to the mid teens stocked just days before we open. Last year we opened three weeks later and 89 anglers caught 826 fish to 14lb this gave a very impressive rod average of 9.3
Bank anglers usually have the best of the sport, Paul Bowker brother Andrew and friend Phil Snath had 141 fish to 6lb between them from the dam on lures such as Dawson’s Olive, Cats Whisker and Black and Olive Nomads fished on intermediate lines. Boats should do well with fish usually found in the top 6ft.Last year Andrew Davison and Ray Barrett had 52 between them on small lures and nymphs fished on floating lines. All the boats caught 20 plus fish.
All last years catch returns can be found on the Catch Return Archive on the web site
