Catch Return Weekending Saturday 5th July

118 Anglers have caught 238 Rainbows to 10lb 8oz.

76 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 9oz

Stocked this week with 240 rainbows 220 averaging 1lb 12oz these were from 1lb 8oz to 2lb and 20 averaging 4lb 8oz these were from 3lb to 5lb.

The week has got better as the water cooled so that by Saturday the Rod Average had rising from 1.4 at the beginning of the week to 3.3. Bank anglers found fish along the full length of the moor side. At the beginning of the week Boat anglers caught most fish at the culvert by Saturday they were catching from all parts of the lake.
Bank and boat anglers have had fish on Black Buzzers, Silver Invicta, Damsels, Hares Ear nymph, Olive Klinkhamers, Shuttle Cocks, Cutthroat Cats and Cats Whisker.

Don Finlay caught the best fish of the week at 10lb 8oz he kept two more for a three fish bag of 16lb. Don caught his fish wading at the bottom of the moor side on Claret Bumble’s. Husband and wife Bob and Margret Ramshaw caught 15 rainbows between them Margret had four from the Whitby end of the dam and Bob eleven from the wading area at the bottom of the moor side. Ryan Vasey caught five on Friday and seven on Saturday from the top of the moor side on Shuttlecocks. Alan Byfield caught seven to 3lb from the moor side on Saturday night keeping four for 10lb 8oz. Les Davison caught seven to 5lb from the overflow end of the dam and Jetty. Ken Shaw caught six to 3lb from the dam on buzzers. Tony Shaw had five on Silver Invicta wading at the culvert this pattern has caught tony a lot of fish in the last three weeks.

Paul Drummond caught thirteen to 7lb over two days on Buzzer, Blood worm and Dawson’s Olive with most fish coming from the culvert. J Anderson and I Clark caught ten between them keeping four for 14lb 12oz the best fish weighed 4lb 4oz. Steve Mills caught five to 4lb 8oz fishing out from the point.

Phil Stentiford out for the second time in the tube he bought from the fishery caught nine to 4lb on Cutthroat Cat fishing in 6ft of water out from the old slipway to the High Bank.
