It has been another difficult week it’s not that anglers can’t see fish as most tell me that they had fish feeding in front of them but they struggled to catch them. There is no best time to fish as some days most of the fish caught have been in the morning and on others anglers have caught throughout the day on a wide verity of patterns and methods.
On Saturday Steve Mills caught twelve rainbows to 4lb from the jetty on Cutthroat cats and shuttlecocks Steve caught throughout the day and lost quit a few fish as well. On Wednesday Les Wheatly had a good mornings sport wading at the culvert Les brought eight rainbows to 3lb to the net all caught on a Pearly Invicta fished on a floating line he came back on Friday and got a lovely 4lb 2oz blue from the same spot. On Thursday morning Colin Brown caught seven on small Black Hoppers wading at the culvert. G Leatherland caught six on Saturday morning from the top of the moor side on Shuttle Cocks pulled into the surface and fished with a slow figure of eight retrieve. M Jones landed five from the holly bush on Shuttlecocks. On Saturday afternoon Bernard Fitzhugh landed five from the bottom of the moor side on Size 16 red buzzer fished under an indicator.
Tim Grove took a boat out over the deep water off the dam on Thursday intending to fish deep he ended up catching seven Rainbows five on Shuttlecocks and two on small GRHE fished just below the surface. John McGarrell caught six fishing out from the Whitby end of the dam on Diawl Bach. E Cowe and P Conlon had seven Rainbows fishing out from the culvert they caught on Gold Head Hares Ear and Cats Whisker keeping five fish for 12lb.
