Catch Return Weekending Saturday 19th July

101 Anglers have caught 203 Rainbows to 5lb 8oz.
Rod Average 2
71 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 3oz

We have stocked this week with 200 Rainbows, 175 were from 1lb 8oz to 2lb and 25 were from 3lb to 6lb.

Rod numbers have been affected yet again by misleading weather forecasts hopefully one day they will get more actuate. Bank anglers have caught most of their fish from the moor side were fish have been feeding for throughout the day. We don’t have any weed problems at Lockwood so the entire one and a quarter mile of bank is fishable. Boats have found fish in all areas of the lake including off the top, over the deepest part off the valve tower were the depth is around 40ft. We are still stocking weekly and as you can see by the returns more fish are going in than coming out so the head of fish in the lake is increasing every week. Bank and boat anglers have had fish on Silver Invicta, Damsels, Black Hoppers, Hares Ear nymph, Olive Klinkhamers, Shuttle Cocks, Cutthroat Cats and Cats Whisker.

Mick Ayton caught thirteen to 3lb on black buzzer fished 12in below an indicator from the holly bush. Margret Ramshaw had a good day on Tuesday landing eight rainbows from the bottom moor side block. R Lain caught six on Silver Invicta from the moor side. W Atkinson had six from the moor side on Daddy’s, Les Wheatley caught five to 4lb 8oz from the top of the moor side on Silver Invicta les has had thirteen fish on his last four visits on this pattern and he only fishes for four hours on the morning. Paul Blight caught five to 5lb 8oz on Damsels from the top of the moor side.

Keith Morley caught eleven rainbows on Damsels fishing down the moor side. Dave Seed landed seven and lost quite a few fishing out from the holly bush. Olive Murray and Steve Trafford both caught six Olive caught two on Damsels and four on Shuttlecocks Steve caught all of his on Yellow Dancer. Wheelchair angler George Binks caught five from our Wheelyboat, George caught three on damsels from the bottom of the moor side and two on Silver Invicta from the culvert.
