Sunday 8th
27 Anglers caught 129 Rainbows to 8lb 12oz.

Colin Lynas caught twenty fishing an Intermediate line and Dawson’s Nomad from the overflow end of the dam that’s forty three over to days. Colin Brown caught fourteen from the dam and lost nearly as many off. P Harrison caught nine keeping four 10lb 8oz from the moor side.
Boats
Lee Cartmail and boat partner caught fifteen fishing down the wood side. John McGarrell caught thirteen to 8lb 12oz that’s twenty seven over two days.

Monday 9th
3 Anglers caught 9 Rainbows to 4lb 8oz.

The 30mph plus wind gusting to 50mph kept anglers away today and reduced the fishable bank to the moor side. Mervin Sanders fished the moor side and caught 6 on Cutthroat Cats and lost 4 more off. When the wind is coming from the south the moor side is sheltered by the hill behind it.

Tuesday 10th
16 Anglers caught 20 Rainbows to 3lb.

The fish were hard to find in the bright and very cold conditions, fish that were caught were on or near the bottom. Ian Morrison caught five from the overflow end of the dam. Dave Dickon’s and Michael Kilvington both caught two from the dam.

Only Les Davison out today Les caught four on Cutthroat Cats fishing out from the jetty.

Wednesday 11th
5 Anglers caught 12 Rainbows to 3lb.

Only five fished today and the less experienced anglers found it difficult to cope with the strong gusting wind. Graham Southham fished down the moor side he didn’t touch a fish until he got to the bottom moor side block and ended up with eleven rainbows from the wading area at the culvert. Six were on a small gold head Dawson’s Olive and five on Cats Whisker Graham lost five more of trying to net them in the waves. Colin Brown caught one and lost a few off as well.

Thursday 12th
9 Anglers caught 39 Rainbows to 6lb.

Yet another day of strong winds over the last three days the water level has dropped by about 5in through water been blown over the overflow. The wind tomorrow will be a lot lighter, the forecast is for 6 to 13mph Northerly’s and with a further 200 fish from 2lb to 6lb to be stocked on Friday sport should be very good.
Mark Jones had a very good day today. Mark caught five wading at the culvert before he took quite a long lunch in the lodge to get the feeling back in his legs he returned to the same spot and caught a further twelve in the afternoon. Mark caught his fish on Dawson’s Olive, Cutthroat Cat and Black Frits. Tim Grove caught nine, two from the holly bush and two from the top of the wood side before lunch and five wading from the culvert after lunch all caught on cutthroat cats. William Leitch caught three from the moor side and John Mann had three on Cats Whiskers from the high bank.

Friday 13th
10 Anglers caught 111 Rainbows to 6lb. and 1 Brown of 2lb 8oz

What a difference a day without wind makes. Graham Southam caught fourteen to 4lb on cat’s whisker from the culvert and overflow end of the dam. Bernard Fitzhugh caught eleven from the overflow end of the dam fishing an Orange Blob under an Indicator. A Brown caught five on Cutthroat Cat in a morning scion from the bay at the top of the moor side. P McSheffrey returned a nice 2lb 8oz Brown from the moor side,

Day Permit Garry Coverdale caught twenty seven to 6lb on Cats Whisker and Dawson’s Nomad fishing out from the wood side block. John McGarrell caught twenty one on Holograph Cormorants fished on a slow sinking line out from the old slipway. Tim Grove caught sixteen on Cormorants and Cutthroat cats fishing out from the wood side. Mrs Olive Murray caught eleven Hears ear nymphs fishing out from the wood side.

Saturday 14th
21 Anglers caught 115 Rainbows to 5lb. and 1 Brown of 5lb

Today was definitely the coldest so far this season. Anglers found the moor side was the place to be today Andrew Greet caught 12 on a Dawson’s Olive from the bottom of the moor side. P Eastwood had 10 from the moor side. Ryan Vasey, Colin Green and John Waller all had 9 from different areas along the moor side.

Boats
Only 2 boats out today.
Steve Mills caught 8 from the culvert on Cats Wiskers. M Wearmouth and S Wearmouth caught 10 between them fishing out from the wood side.

Float Tubes
Phillip Stentiford caught 15 rainbows to 6lb 4 from the wood side and 11 from the culvert and along the bottom of the moor side all caught on Cats Whiskers
