The fish have responded to the water temperature dropping down to 14-15c, with anglers now catching from all around the lake. The most successful Anglers are those who fish the margins with a lot of fish been caught no more than 6 to 8ft out from the bank. Fish can be seen under the trees along the wood side were boat anglers have had some good catchers fishing small black dry’s mini lures and small Buzzers.
Colin Brown caught 20 Rainbows to 4lb and 1 lovely 4lb Brown on Monday he returned on Wednesday and caught 24 more Rainbows to 6lb that’s 45 fish over two days. Colin Caught from the High Bank, Wood Side. Point and Top of the Moor side. Colin caught nearly all of his fish no more than 3 to 10ft out from the bank on Small Nymphs and size 16 to 18 Black dries. Mike Ayton caught 11 on small Cats Whiskers from the dam and moor side. Dave Walker caught 7 on small Cats from the jetty and moor side. Ian Morrison had 6 from the dam.
Tim Grove caught 19 to 5lb over two trips with most coming to Black Buzzers. Paul Drummond caught 16 to 4lb 6oz on small lures. Les and Ben Davison caught 13 on White Zonkers and Muddlers.
Ian Fenton caught 10 fishing along the tree line on small Black hoppers.
