152 Anglers have caught 522 Rainbows to 6lb 4oz

164 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 9oz
358 Rainbows were returned.

Top patterns this week have been ON TOP:- Shipman’s, Yellow Owl, Sandys Shuttlecock, Black Klinkhamer and Beetle. UNDERNEATH: – Yellow Dancer, Buzzer, Cats Whisker, Olive Bunny Leach and Cut Throat Cat.

The water temperature has been all over this week on Sunday it was 12c by Thursday it had risen to 21c and now has dropped back the 17c. all this change dose have an effect on the fishing, this could be seen by the good sport at the beginning and end of the week with more challenging conditions in the middle.


Mark Jones landed 13 and lost 5 more of on Saturday all of Marks fish were caught on or close to the bottom from the overflow end of the dam on Cut Throat Cats, Black Nomads and Pink Squirmy Worms. Steve Mills caught 11 on Cut Throat Cats from the top of the moor side. Les Davison caught 8 from the dam on Cut Throat Cats fished very slowly on the bottom. Bill Davison had 13 over two nights from different spots around the lake.


Chris and Steve Trafford caught 39 over two days on White Lures from the point and Culvert. Matty Lamb and John Parkin caught 17 between them fishing on our last 4-hour permit. William Leitch caught 11 on Lures. Steve Mills caught 11 on Cats Whisker fishing near the point. Les Davison caught 10 to 6lb 4oz on Cut Throat Cats fished deep and slow along the wood side.

Float Tubs

Tony Ward had 21 over two days with most caught on small Olive Lures fished deep and Slow.
Mike Ayton had 19 on Buzzers fished 5ft under an indicator and Stu Walker had 18 over two days.
The British Float Tube Association held their annual competition at Lockwood on Saturday 11th June. 16 anglers fished and caught 79 fish for a rod average of 4.9 only one angler failed to land a fish. 50 fish were kept for a weight of 125lb. Garry Cragg won with 4 fish for 14lb 8oz.Rick Dunnett was second with 4 fish for 12lb 4oz and Tony Parker third with 4for 11lb 12oz. The heaviest fish was 5lb 8oz.

Some of the 230 Rainbows & Blues 187 averaging 2lb and 43 averaging 4lb 4oz going into Lockwood today Friday 10th June. That’s 450 fish stocked in the last seven days.
