Sunday 5th
31 Anglers have caught 156 Rainbows to 7lb

126 Rainbows to 7lb were returned.
The day started well with good cloud cover and lots of fish on the surface by 11am the sun came through making it difficult for bank anglers although the boats were still catching. Hoppers, Buzzers, Hares ear nymphs and Cutthroat Cats accounted for most of the fish that were caught.
Bank
Ryan Vasey caught 12 rainbows to 7lb from the bottom of the moor side, Ryan caught on Cats Whisker and Cutthroat cats fished on an intermediate line. Darren Parry caught 12 before lunch on small Diawl Bach. Ken Shaw caught 9 fishing along the moor side on his copper wire buzzer. Adam Greensmith caught 7 from the top of the moor side on Dawson’s Nomads.

Boats
Andrew Tinkle and Simon Gaines had 39 to the boat keeping 4 for 14lb 8oz. Paul Richardson caught 14 to 5lb from our Wheelyboat on Diawl Bach fishing up near the point. Peter and Ann McLean caught 13 fishing along the wood side. Paul Drummond caught 10 to 5lb 8oz on Nomads.

Monday 6th
33 Anglers caught 152 Rainbows to 5lb 8oz

22 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 14oz
122 Rainbows to 5lb 8oz were returned
Bank
Colin Brown caught 8 to 5lb on Buzzers from the moor side. Tony Shaw only fished for three hours in the morning and caught 6 to 3lb 8oz wading at the culvert. Some anglers made good use of our last four hour permit. J McDermott caught 10 from the top of the Woodside. Matty Lamb caught 7 from the wood side and Rob McLay caught 6 from the top moor side block.

Boats
Hardy Greys Andrew Sowerby had an excellent day bringing 51 to the net. Andrew caught fish from all areas of the lake on buzzers and orange blob. Andrew fished the blob on the top dropper and buzzers on the point and middle dropper, Most of his fish took the buzzers on the hang in front of the boat. T S Downton and J McDermott caught 17 between them. Michael O’Connor and Jonathan O’Conner caught 10 between them.

Tuesday 7th
4 Anglers caught 13 Rainbows to 4lb.

Dave Walker had 6 on but only managed to land 3 for them, Dave fished along the moor side with a small Cats Whisker.
Boats
Only one out Colin Lynas caught 10 to 4lb fishing out from the point, Colin caught on a Dawson’s Nomad and Damsels fished on an intermediate line.

Wednesday 8th
16 Anglers caught 97 Rainbows to 4lb 8oz.

The fish were feeding hard on the Beetles that were been blown off the moor on to the lake
Bank
S Bottomley caught 12 to 3lb from the dam on Cats Whisker. N Sinclair caught 8 on blobs from the culvert.
Boats
Dermot Speight and Mike Gadd caught 37 to 4lb between them, Dermot caught 8 before lunch on cormorants and 12 after lunch on beetles. Mike had all his 17 on lures. Colin Brown and Bernard Fitzhugh had 27 between fishing out from the culvert on buzzers and beetles. Les Davison caught 12 to 4lb fishing out from the jetty.

Thursday 9th
25 Anglers caught 158 Rainbows to 6lb and 1-4lb Brown.

17 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 14oz.
142 Rainbows to 6lb were returned
The Bright conditions didn’t spoil the sport today, anglers reported fish rising from all areas of the lake with boat and bank catching well. Most of our anglers caught today on a verity of patterns and methods.

Kris Munro caught 13, M Webb 12 and S Redpath caught 10 keeping 3 for 10lb.

Boat
Tim Grove and John Smith brought 35 to the boat Tim had 17 on Cormorants and Buzzers and John had 18 on small Nomads all there fish were caught fishing out from the culvert. Garry Coverdale caught 19 on Diawl Bach and Foam Beetle’s, Garry fished from a drifting boat all day. Keith Morley caught 16 on small Hears Ear Nymphs and Beetles. Andrew Bogan had 8 on Diawl Bach and Foam Beetle’s.

Friday 10th
20 Anglers caught 175 Rainbows to 5lb 8oz and 1- 5lb Browns.

Only 4 anglers failed to catch today
Bank
Mark Jones caught 18 rainbows to 4lb and 1 – 5lb Brown. Mark caught from the jetty and culvert. Graham Southam caught 17 to 4lb on Dawson’s Olive from the wading aria at the culvert. Les Spedding caught 11 from the moor side on Buzzers and Foam Beetles. Michel Kilvington caught 8 keeping 2 for 9lb Michel fished into the wind at the overflow end of the dam.

Boats
Mike Ayton and son Tom caught 39 rainbows to 4lb on Cutthroat Cats with Mike getting 25 of them. John McGarrell caught 21 rainbows to 5lb 9 on Black Cormorants and 12 Foam Beetles from the wood side and Culvert. P and C Ditchburn caught 18 between them.

Saturday 4th
32 Anglers caught 110 Rainbows to 6lb 4oz

50 Rainbows to 4lb were returned.
The weather changed totally today we had a very strong gusty SW wind with at times rain and hail. Bank anglers had the worst of it and the three boats that were out had to fish down the sheltered wood side.

Ryan Vasey caught 14 rainbows to 3lb from the dam and moorside on Cutthroat Cats, Buzzer and Foam Beetles. Andrew Greet caught 10 on Cutthroat Cats from the top moorside block to 3lb 8oz. 21 anglers from Ashington King Fishers fished a bank competition today they caught 45 rainbows for a Rod Average of 2.2 and kept 42 fish at an average weight of 2lb 4oz. Scott Nellins won with 4 fish for 11lb 12oz. Mel Forster was second with 4 fish for 11lb 8oz and John Taylor third with 4 fish for 10lb 4oz.
