This Picture taken on the first of April shows the improvement in the water level. At the end of January we were 13ft down now we are only 3ft 10in from been full.

124 Anglers have caught 469 Rainbows to 8lb 8oz

Sunday 3rd

22 Anglers have caught 105 Rainbows to 5lb
Rod Average 4.8
29 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 10oz

Bank
Daniel Jefferson caught seventeen rainbows fishing down the Woodside bank, most of his fish were caught on small buzzers and dries. Graham Shoutham fished the Whitby end of the dam and caught sixteen rainbows on size 10 White Humongous. Junior Scott Almanderea caught seven from the moorside.

Boats
Les Davison and grandson Ben caught Sixteen rainbows between them lures keeping two fish for 7lb.

Monday 4th
13 Anglers caught 60 Rainbows to 8lb 8oz.
Rod average 4.6
21 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb. 12oz

Bank
The very strong S-W wind made fishing on the Moorside nearly imposable anglers fishing from the dam to the top of the Woodside all caught fish. John McGarrell caught twenty one rainbows from the high bank and Woodside on damsel Buzzers and Daiwl Bach. Bernard Fitzhugh caught six rainbows on buzzers from the high bank.

Tuesday 5th
6 Anglers caught 27 Rainbows to 2lb 8oz
Rod average 4.6
4 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 2oz.

Bank
The wind was as bad as yesterday reducing the bank fishing to the Woodside. Keith Richards fished the Woodside bank up near the point and caught eight rainbows on Daiwl Bach.

Boats
Les Davison and grandson Ben caught fifteen rainbows between them on lures.

Wednesday 6th
15 Anglers caught 47 Rainbows to 3lb 8oz
Rod average 3.1
15 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb

Bank

The very strong wind made fishing conditions very difficult. Andrew Grabham caught nine rainbows on orange blobs from the moorside. Tony Harrison had ten rainbows and John Heward six on nymphs and small lures from the top of the moorside.

Boats
Andrew Bogan caught nine rainbows on buzzers fishing out from the holly bush.

Thursday 7th

22Anglers caught 37 Rainbows to 7lb 2oz and 2 Browns to 2lb
Rod average 1.8
15 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb. 9oz

Bank
The wind was as strong today as it was yesterday reducing the amount of bank anglers could fish. John Heard followed yesterday’s six with four today which included a lovely 7lb 4oz Rainbow.

Boats
John McGarrell caught ten to 5lb on buzzers fishing along the moorside. Les Davison had four to 4lb 8oz on lures fishing out from the point.

Friday 8th

Stocked today with 115 rainbows from 1lb 12oz to 8lb
22 Anglers caught 102 Rainbow to 4lb 12oz
Rod average 4.6
19 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb. 5oz

Bank

Derrick Grabham caught twelve rainbows on buzzers and Cats Whisker wading out from the top moorside block. Terry Sharp had eleven on Cats Whisker from below the top block and Jeff Dickenson had five from the point.
Boats
John McGarrell caught twenty nine rainbows and three nice roach on buzzers and Steve Trafford had twelve on size 10 long shank olive cone head.

Saturday 9th
24 Anglers caught 88 Rainbows to 5lb and 1Brown of 2lb Rod average 3.7
35 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 5oz.

Bank
Bill English did the best today fishing lures on a slow sinking line he caught nineteen rainbows to 4lb keeping four for 11lb 8oz. Gordon Swain kept four for 12lb 8oz. M Russell had eleven from the moorside. Billy Wilson caught eight rainbows from the point on Daiwl Bach and Colin Lynas had five from the top moorside block.

Boats
P Blight and G Lees had six fishing small lures under an indicator and N Robson and D Crosby also caught six on lures.
