Les Davison caught 11 rainbows to 5lb from the boat jetty Les had five on GRHE, three on Muddlers and three on Olive Zonkers. Shawn Thomas caught 10 from the point on small red buzzers fished under an indicator. Ken Shaw thought he was in for a really good day catching 4 in the first half hour then the wind got up and made casting very difficult.
Jason Nunn caught 20 rainbows to 4lb on dry’s and wets depending on the conditions. A Brown made use of our last 4hour permit to catch 8 rainbows on small black muddlers.

What a difficult day today proved to be we had trout feeding all over the lake on very small buzzers and refusing most of the dry’s presented to them. I find that when the fish are so preoccupied the best way to catch is to fish under them with small buzzers etc or fish a bit deeper with lures.
Les Davison went back to basics fishing a large Olive Zonker from the jetty and caught 8 to 4lb. Rob Lincoln caught 5 on small dry’s
Steve Trafford caught 9 fishing size 16 and 18 dry’s.

13 Anglers caught 56 Rainbows to 4lb 8oz

Clive Simpson caught 10 on CDC Shuttlecock’s from the top moor side block. Michael Kilvington caught 7 rainbows to 4lb on CDC Shuttlecock’s from the top of the moor side. Ian Morrison caught 6 to 4lb and D Waterworth also had 6 on CDC Shuttlecock’s from the moor side. Malcolm Carter and Keith Thompson both had 5 with Keith getting the fish of the day at 4lb 8oz.
Steve Trafford caught 12 to 4lb on dry’s fishing from the culvert to the point.

23 Anglers caught 83 rainbows to 3lb 12oz and 2 browns to 1lb 12oz.

Andrew Bogan caught 14 Rainbows to 3lb 8oz Andrew caught from the Dam Moor side and point on Foam Beetles and Hears Ear Shuttlecocks. Colin Brown caught 5 Rainbows from the jetty on a small buzzer fished 6in under an indicator. Dave Urwin had 2 rainbows to 2lb 8oz and 2 browns from the overflow end of the dam.
Dermot Speight caught 10 from a drifting boat. Malcolm Proudlock and B Radford caught 13 between them keeping six for 16lb. Mrs Olive Murray landed 7 but lost more fish off on CDC Shuttlecocks.

It was a hard fishing day today with a strong S Westerly and bright sunshine for most of the day.
Mark Dunlop caught a lovely 4lb 6oz Brown Trout. Les Davison caught 7 to 3lb 8oz from the jetty on Olive Zonkers.
Jason Nunn caught 14 fishing with 3 traditional wets Lock Stile. Mrs Olive Murray caught 6 on Foam Beetles.

21 Anglers caught 137 Rainbows to 9lb 7oz

We stocked today with 240 Rainbows Blues and Browns from 1lb 12oz to 6lb 30 of the fish were 3lb to 4lb Browns.
Well today fished a lot better than I thought it would in the sun. We had some cloud at times and a light S Westerly breeze with fish feeding in or close to the surface for most of the day.
Colin Brown caught 22 Rainbows to 5lb. Colin caught all his fish on a size 16 black buzzer fished 9 to 12in below an indicator. Steve mils fished from 6pm to close and caught 12 rainbows on CDC Shuttlecocks. M Parker retuned 7 on a sporting permit.
D Seed said he had had his best ever days fishing he caught 27 rainbows to 4lb on Foam Beetles. G Wright caught 17 to 3lb fishing three fly’s on a Midge Tip line. Lee Cartimail caught 13 to 9lb 7oz on CDC Shuttlecocks and Foam Beetles.

15 Anglers caught 157 Rainbows to 4lb 4oz

What a day only three anglers failed to land fish.
Paul Good caught 13 on Dry’s from the top of the moor side. Stewart Balmer caught 11 from the moor side. Dave Sanders caught 10 and John Heward 9 on buzzers and dry’s fishing from late afternoon to close. G Leatherland had 7 on dry’s from the point.
Husband and Wife Peter and Ann McLean had their best ever day with Peter catching 27 to 4lb and Ann 19 to 4lb 4oz that’s 46 fish to the boat and quite a lot more were lost off. Both were fishing a Buzzers hung 9in to 12in below a Klinkhamer they caught on both the dry and buzzer. S and J Mills caught 42 to 4lb between them all the fish were caught on Cats Whiskers fished fast on an intermediate line.

On Saturday July 13th Lockwood Beck Fishery invites you come and meet Steve Naylor of the BRITISH FLOAT TUBE ASSOCIATION.
Steve will be demonstrating float tubing equipment from 10.00am. He will be available to answer questions regarding float tube acquisition, use and safety considerations etc.

Last 4 hour permit available from 5pm (This permit is only available from the time stated)
Part Day Boat Morning (8.30am to 2.30pm) Afternoon (2.30pm to 9.15pm)
Lockwood opens at 8am and closes at 9.30pm or time posted in the the Lodge.
