John Maguire caught this lovely 15lb 12oz rainbow fishing next to the Valve Tower on a Black Cormorant fished on a midge tip line.

Today was one of those days when most Bank and Boat anglers caught fish from all around the lake.
Bank
Day permit John Maguire caught the best fish of the day at 15lb 12oz he caught the fish next to the Valve Tower on a Black Cormorant fished on a midge tip line. Season Permit Dave Walker caught 11 in a 3hour morning session from the moorside 8 fish came from the bottom moorside block on a small Cats Whisker fished just under the surface. D Lowther caught five on buzzers from the high bank keeping 3 for 10lb 8oz.
Boats
Dermot Speight caught 14 keeping 4 for 11lb his best was 3lb. Mike Taylor caught 9 keeping 3 for 15lb his best was 9lb 2oz. Wheel Chair angler Paul Richardson fishing from the Wheelyboat caught 7 on foam Beatles.

Not a good day for fishing bright sunshine all day bank and boat anglers found conditions difficult.

Boat anglers G Crow and M Hindmarsh caught 9 between them.

It was a difficult day in the sun again today anglers fishing sinking lines had the best sport.

Day permit Nick Turner caught 12 rainbows on Orange lures fished on a sinking line from the culvert. Derek Hare caught 3 to 4lb 8oz.
Boats
Keith Morley caught 5 to 3lb on Diawl Bach. Steve Traford caught 5 on Lures.

Colin Brown caught 10 to 4lb on small Black Buzzers under an indicator and Foam Beetles. Darren Parry caught 8 to 4lb on Hears Ear Klinkhamers fishing near the top moorside block, Darren only fished from 5.30 to 9pm. T Jackson made use of our last 4hour permit he caught 5 rainbows to 5lb on small olive nymphs fishing at the top of the woodside. S Morley had the best fish of the day at 6lb 8oz from the high bank.

Steve Mann and Alan Corr caught 12 between them. Tim Grove caught 5 on Dry’s.

Stan Drummond caught 10 to 3lb from the bottom moorside block on Hears Ear Shuttlecock. Clive Simpson caught 6 on Buzzers from the top moorside block and Kevin Johnson had 4 on shuttlecocks from the holly bush.

Steve Trafford caught 8 fishing out from the culvert.

23 Anglers caught 73 Rainbows to 5lb

28 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 4oz

Stocked today with 240 Rainbows and Blues from 1lb 8oz to 6lb about 160 fish were Blues.
It was a difficult day in the sun today, anglers fishing sinking lines or buzzers fished 3ft under an indicator had the best sport.

Colin Brown caught 6 and Malcolm Carter 4 on buzzers fished 3ft under an indicator from the top of the moorside. Alan Byfield caught 3 to 5lb from the dam.
Boat
William Leitch caught 9 to 3lb 4oz on Dawson’s Nomads fished on a slow sinking line. John McGarrell caught 8 on Orange Nomads fished close to the bottom on a slow sinking line. Steve Trafford caught 6 to 4lb.

The easterly wind is keeping the temperature’s down on the exposed banks.

Steve caught 11 to 3lb on olive nomads from the top of the moorside. Dave Walker caught 4 fishing a small black buzzer 2ft under an indicator. G Leatherland caught 4 on dry’s from the moorside before the sun broke through.
Boats
Boat anglers had the better sport today fishing sinking lines and lures in the deeper water.
D and A Stanger caught 14 between them keeping 2 for 6lb. S Appleton and S Harrison caught 14 on orange and olive lures fished on sinking lines over the deeper water. Colin and Richard Lynas caught 9 on nomads.

Last 4 hour permit available from 5pm (This permit is only available from the time stated) from the top of the moorside.
