Sunday 29th
35 Anglers caught 54 Rainbows and 2 Brown Trout. Rod average 1.6
31 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 6oz.

Sport will pick up when the wind change direction away from the SW. Anglers found fish hard to catch even though fish were rising for most of the day, When the wind drops the evening rise has been excellent with fish feeding hard right up to the bank. The evening rise doesn’t start until about 9pm. Small Muddlers and Sedge patterns fished quite quickly through the surface can produce some exciting sport and as most anglers have left by 8pm they miss the best fishing of the day.

Monday 30th
24 Anglers caught 60 Rainbows and 1 Brown Trout. Rod average 2.5
24 Fish were kept at an average weight of 3lb 3oz.

Jim Tate caught eight from the overflow end dam wall on a Cats Whisker fished under an indicator
BOATS
Farther and son Ian and Phil Goodman caught 20 fish between them on lures from the shallow water at the Whitby end of the dam. They kept seven rainbows for 28lb including the best fish of the day at 10lb 5oz.

Tuesday 1st July
22 Anglers caught 69 Rainbows and 3 Brown Trout. Rod average 3.3
18 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 4oz.

Graham Southam caught twelve fishing from 8to 10pm from the culvert all Grahams fish were taking on CDC Shipman’s. M Davis caught eight fishing on an evening permit from the moorside.
BOATS
Steve Mills fished in the shallow water out from the culvert and caught 27 fish on small Black Parachute dries.

Wednesday 2nd
16 Anglers caught 36 Rainbows and 1 Brown Trout. Rod average 2.3
18 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 0oz.

Strong SW winds kept rod numbers low. Anglers managed a few fish on Damsels and Hears ear nymphs. The wind dropped in the evening and we had an excellent evening rise with no anglers to take advantage.
BOATS
William Leitch caught seven on Daddy long legs.

Thursday 3rd
34 Anglers caught 36 Rainbows and 1 Brown Trout. Rod average 2.4
36 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 6oz.

Les Spedding caught fourteen on Dries wading out from the culvert. John McGarrell caught ten from the moorside on CDC Shuttlecocks.
Keith Richards caught six from the moorside on CDC Shuttlecocks Keith only fished the last hour before closing. M Bennison caught a cracking 7lb 12oz Brown trout from the point.
BOATS
Mrs Olive Murray caught the best fish of the day the 11lb 5oz rainbow took a size 16 CDC Shuttlecock fishing out from the point.

Friday 4th
29 Anglers caught 74 Rainbows and 3 Brown Trout. Rod average 3.1
29 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 12oz.

Neil Clark caught eight from the moorside. Clark Mondal fished from 6pm to 9pm for seven fish.

Phil Green caught eight fish on nymphs and lures.

Stocked on Friday 4th July with 230 1lb 8oz to 6lb Rainbows and Browns.

Saturday 5th
24 Anglers caught 76 Rainbows and 3 Brown Trout. Rod average 3.3
25 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 5oz.

What a day thunder lighting heavy rain showers and strong wind spoiled the day and kept numbers low, despite the weather most angler caught fish. Dave Sanders caught seven and returned the best rainbow of the day at 8lb from the moorside and A Paxton had five rainbows and two browns from the moorside as well.

M Burr caught fifteen fish on a single Black Buzzer fished on a floating line fishing out from the point. John McGarrell caught nine on CDC Shipman’s fished quite quickly in the surface

We open for Day Permits at 8am and close at 10pm
