I would like to thank Angling trust instructors Jeff Metcalf and Mark Gambles and Brian Lee, Simon Purves and Peter Dawson of the Cleveland Branch of the Salmon & Trout ass for giving up their time to help with our Junior fly fishing course on the 30th March 2016.
69 Anglers have caught 302 Rainbows to 7lb 8oz.

Sunday 27th March
5 Anglers have caught 8 Rainbows to 7lb 8oz.

The strong winds kept anglers away again today, only three season and two anglers fishing the last four-hour permit fished.
Dave Walker caught 4 and lost two from the top of the wood side. Mervin Sanders caught 2 to 4lb and lost 4 from holy bush. P Miller had a nice 7lb 8oz rainbow on his last four-hour permit.
The Strong Winds stopped the Boats going out today.
Monday 28th March
17 Anglers have caught 86 Rainbows to 6lb

13 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 3lb 4oz
73 Rainbows to 6lb were returned.
Only three anglers braved the weather before lunch. The contuse rain lifted the level of the lake by 3” between 8am and 12. Conditions improved when the rain stopped and wind dropped at lunch time allowing the anglers to fish more of the lake.
Graham Southam caught 28 to 4lb. 9 from the dam before the wind dropped and 19 from the moor side all caught on Orange Humongous. Glen Thompson fished through the worst of the weather from 8.30 to 12 and caught 12 rainbows to 6lb with four of his fish over 4lb. All caught on Cut Throat Cats from the dam. Colin Lynas fished from 12pm and caught 8 from the overflow end of the dam Dawson’s Nomads. John Waller fished on our last four-hour permit and caught 7 to 4lb 6oz on Olive Lures from the moor side. P McNulty had 4 on the last four-hour permit.
Only Mrs Olive Murray out today and she caught 9 to 4lb on small Olive Nomads fishing out from the jetty.
Tuesday 29th March
7 Anglers have caught 49 Rainbows to 5lb

43 Rainbows to 5lb were returned.
Ian Vickers caught 9 from the dam wall on buzzers fished under an indicator.
Glen Thompson caught 8 from the dam on Cut Throat Cats.
Mark Jones caught 13 from the bottom of the moor side. Les Davison caught 10 fishing out from the wood side. Brian Gardiner caught 6 fishing out from the high Bank.
Wednesday 30th March
21 Anglers have caught 84 Rainbows to 7lb 8oz

23 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 3lb 4oz
61 Rainbows to 5lb were returned.
Graham Southam caught 15 to 5lb on Orange Lures from the wading area at the culvert. Colin Brown had a nice fish of 7lb 8oz from the moor side. Paul Neesam caught 6 to 5lb 8oz from the overflow end of the dam.
C Dresser and A Munro caught 19 between them keeping two for 11lb 14oz, they fished out from the wood side with Olive Lures fished fast on Intermediate Lines. Keith Morley caught 7 and Mrs Olive Murray had 5 to 6lb 9oz.
Thursday 31st March
20 Anglers have caught 75 Rainbows to 7lb

18 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 3lb 4oz
5 Rainbows to 5lb were returned.
The fishing was a bit slow today I think two nights with a frost and some heavy at times hail and snow showers have cooled things down a bit. Boat and bank anglers had plenty of fish showing but found them difficult to tempt. Anglers fishing with intermediate and sink tip lines had the best sport.
Phil Stentiford caught 6 keeping 2 for 5lb 8oz from the overflow end of the dam wall.
Tim Grove caught 11 to 4lb on Buzzers fished on a washing line. William Leitch and Stan Drummond caught 11 between them keeping 3 for 16lb, Stan caught the best fish at 7lb.
John Mann and Colin Crossman also had 11 between them with most caught on buzzers.
G Wright caught 8 keeping 3 for 9lb 8oz.
W Ward caught 10 to 3lb on buzzers fished under an indicator. Ian Fenton caught 7 keeping 2 for 7lb Ian caught all his fish on cut throat cats.

Friday 1st April
11 Anglers have caught 33 Rainbows to 8lb

What a cold windy unpleasant day today was. The gusty wind made for difficult casting and the light drizzle kept the air temperature down.
Graham Southam caught 8 to 6lb 6oz on orange lures from the bottom of the moor side.
Tim Grove caught 5 on Black Cormorants fishing out from the wood side. Mrs Olive Murray caught 4 to 8lb and lost 7 more fish off, all 4 of Olives fish were 4lb or over. Malcolm Grainger had 4.
Photos show todays conditions Sat 2nd its warmer than yesterday at 9c the light rain stopped about ten and anglers are catching. Water Temp is now 7.2c.
Saturday 2nd April
12 Anglers have caught 62 Rainbows to 5lb

Andrew Sowerby caught 9 from the top moor side block on Dry’s and emerges. P McSheffrey caught 4 on the last four-hour permit from the moor side,
Only two out Mrs Olive Murray caught 15 to 5lb on a verity of lures from the culvert, point and out from the jetty. Rob McLay brought his friend Dale for his first go at fly fishing rob caught 8 and Dale had 3 to 3lb.
Mike Ayton caught 14 to 3lb on small Black Nomads, Mike caught from the point and down the wood side.
