We had lots of fish showing at times from the boat jetty along the dam to the culvert. John McGarrell caught eight from the jetty and overflow end of the dam on CDC Shuttlecocks, that’s thirty seven fish over three days for John. Dave Walker caught five from the Whitby end of the dam on Klinkhammers.
L Tyson caught twelve on Muddlers. Ian Mclay and Ron Birthisel kept five for 15lb.

Bank anglers had the best of the day with Chris Profitt catching 24 on Damsels Green Humongous and olive buzzer wile wading from the culvert; Chris kept four for 11lb. Neil Clark caught sixteen from the culvert and bay at the top of the moorside. John McGarrell fished all day next to the overflow with CDC Shuttle Cocks and landed nine he lost six more at the net. Jim Tate caught seven fishing a small lure under an inderator.
Ken Jones and Keith Morley both caught six on nymphs and small lures.
Tuesday 22nd July
25 Anglers caught 52 Rainbows and 1 Brown Trout. Rod average 2.1
37 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb 5oz.
Wheel chair angler Paul Richardson fished from the jetty instead of the Wheely Boat and managed five rainbows and one brown.
M Burr and A Johnson caught twelve between them keeping eight for 20lb.

Bank anglers found fish hard to tempt even though lots could be seen feeding close to the bank for most of the day. Only Neil Clark got among them with five in two hours on Damsel Nymph from the culvert.
Dermot Speight and Mike Gadd had twelve between them keeping eight for 19lb. Stewart Camoron and Michael Pye caught eleven between them keeping four for 11lb 4oz.

As yesterday plenty of fish were feeding within casting distance of bank anglers. Anglers fishing with small 16 and 18 dries could tempt the fish but found them hard to hang on to. Damsels are accounting for fish from bank and boat. Ian Morrison fished buzzers under an indicator for ten fish, D Miller caught five and lost as many off on buzzer and damsel and Rob Lincoln landed five and lost more on size 16 and 18 dries. Mrs Ann Richardson caught the best rainbow of the day at 5lb 8oz from the top moor side block.
Boat anglers found fish hard to come by. A Bows did best keeping four for 9lb.
Stocked today with 230 Rainbows and Browns from 1lb 12oz to 6lb.

Season permit holders did well with a rod average of 4.5 on a hot bright day. John McGarrell caught eleven on CDC Shuttle Cocks from the top of the moorside. John found that when he sat down the fish came to within five mt of the bank. J Annis caught ten from the holly bush on a small white nomad. Neil Clark had seven wading out from the culvert on Damsel Nymphs. John Anderson and Dave Bachelor had six each from the moorside.

The high Temperatures and the lack of wind made for difficult fishing conditions, Anglers fishing intermediate and sinking lines had the best of the sport. Boat anglers found fish 15 to 20ft down.
