Sunday 18th
37 Anglers caught 110 Rainbows to 5lb 12oz and 1 Brown.

38 rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 10oz

What a cold day the wind kept changing from westerly round to northerly and ended up from the north east with a drop in temp from 12c to 5c . Anglers had a lot of fish showing for most of the day with bank anglers having the best of the sport on buzzers and dries. Anglers who abandoned there indicators and fished buzzers on a floating line caught a lot more fish.

G Corner caught eight rainbows on black buzzer from the top of the moorside keeping four for 20lb (5lb 12oz, 5lb 4oz, 4lb 12oz, and 4lb 4oz). Graham Southham caught fourteen rainbows on olive buzzer keeping two for 10lb 12oz (5lb 12oz, 5lb) he also returned fish to six pounds from the moorside. Dave Batchelor caught eleven on shipman’s from the holly bush to the top moorside block.
Boats
Wheel chair angler Paul Richardson caught eight rainbows on klinkhamers from our wheely boat.

Monday 19th
14 Anglers caught 73 Rainbows to 6lb 8oz.

Bank
Mike Walker caught eleven on Olive Nymphs form the moorside. Keith Richards caught five returning four fish over 5lb from the moorside after 7pm, He caught all his fish on shipman’s.
Boat
John McGarrel caught Twenty Nine to 6lb 8oz on olive shipman’s fishing along the moorside. John didn’t catch a fish until he started to fish the fly quite fast just under the surface. William Leitch caught thirteen to 5lb on lures.

Tuesday 20th
21 Anglers caught 45 Rainbows to 5lb 8oz and 3 Browns to 6lb.

Mike Walker followed yesterdays eleven with thirteen rainbows and one brown today.

Les Davison caught seven rainbows on lures.

Wednesday 21st
14 Anglers caught 7 Rainbows to 2lb

Not a good day for fishing with the air temp only 5c and bright sun shine.

Thursday 22nd
28 Anglers caught 55 Rainbows to 2lb 8oz
Rod average 2
20 Fish were kept at an average weight of 2lb.

Another day of sunshine with little to no wind and low temperatures kept catches low until the evening when the whole lake resembled a trout farm. Most of the fish caught were caught after 5pm.

Friday 23th
Stocked to day with 230 Rainbows from 1lb 8oz to 15lb.

22 Anglers caught 115 Rainbows to 12lb
Rod average 5.2
25 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 12oz.

Bank
What a perfect day for fishing with a light warm breeze and cloud cover all day. The fish were feeding all day and all but three of the twenty two anglers caught fish.
Keith Thompson caught twenty rainbows on Cats Whisker keeping fish of 7lb 8oz and 2lb from the Whitby end of the dam. Jim Tate caught eight from the top moorside block keeping one rainbow of 5lb 8oz and returning fish to 12lb. John McGarrell caught thirteen on Buzzers and Dries. Guy Mason had seven keeping fish of 7lb and 2lb from the dam wall.

Mrs Olive Murray caught nine on Shuttle Cocks.

Saturday 24th

43 Anglers caught 150 Rainbows to 13lb and 11 Browns to 6lb 8oz

31 Fish were kept at an average weight of 3lb. 2oz

Bank
Andrew Bowker caught eighteen rainbows from the Whitby end of the dam on damsels. Billy Wilson had fourteen rainbows to 5lb and one brown of 6lb 8oz on dries and nymphs from the moorside. Colin Lynas caught fourteen on Dawson’s Nomads from the dam and Malcolm Brown caught seven rainbows on the four hour permit. Malcolm caught all his fish on white gold head Fritz he returned fish of 13lb and 7lb.
Boats
We only had three boats out. Rob Cowan came down from Northumberland and had an excellent day catching twenty four rainbows on lures fishing out from the culvert. Rob kept fish of 7lb 12oz and 6lb. Peter Mclean kept a lovely 9lb 12oz rainbow caught on a Cats Whisker fished on an intermediate out from the valve tower. Mrs Murray fished dries all day and caught six.

Lockwood opens at 8am and closes at 8.30pm
