Sunday 17th May
19 Anglers have caught 42 Rainbows to 4lb and 1 – 4lb Brown

We had another day of strong winds making the moorside nearly unfishable.
Junior Tomas Ayton caught 5 to 3lb from the jetty on small Black Klinkhamers. Andrew Greet caught 4 wading at the top of the woodside. Daren Parry Kept a nice 4lb Brown caught on a foam Beetle from the moorside.
Wheelchair angler Paul Richardson caught 11 rainbows to 3lb from our Wheely Boat on Beetles and Klinkhamers. Garry Coverdale caught 6 rainbows on drys.
Monday 18th May
11 Anglers caught 34 Rainbows to 5lb and 1 – 7lb 8oz Brown

25 Rainbows to 5lb were returned
Sean Thomas caught 7rainbows to 4lb 8oz and one 7lb 8oz Brown from the high bank. Les Davison caught 8 to 3lb 8oz from the dam on Cormorants and Orange Blobs. Brian Gardiner caught 5 to 3lb from the jetty on Yellow Blobs.
Steve Trafford caught 7 rainbows on CDC F Fly’s fishing out from the woodside.
Tuesday 19th May
4 Anglers caught 32 Rainbows to 4lb

27 Rainbows to 3lb were returned
What a day only four anglers braved the conditions we had heavy rain and hail but in between the showers the fishing was excellent.
Brian Gardiner caught 10 from the jetty on Yellow Blobs and Cormorants. Bill Davison caught 9 keeping two for 6lb.
Steve Trafford caught 8 on buzzers fished under an indicator fishing out from the overflow end of the dam. A Williams caught 5 to 3lb on Cats Whisker fishing out from the old slipway.
Wednesday 20th May
17 Anglers caught 45 Rainbows to 3lb 8oz and one Brown

26 Rainbows and one Brown were returned
The day started off very promising with good cloud cover and plenty fish on top when the sun came through mid-morning the fish went deeper.
Alan Byfield kept 4 for 11lb from the dam Alan caught on Cats Whisker. Tony Legg caught 4 from the Jetty keeping one 2lb 8oz rainbow. Gordon Rooks fished on the last 4hour permit and caught 3 rainbows from the top of the moorside.
Mal Grainger caught 6 on buzzer fished under an indicator. Keith Morley and George Fisher had 8 between them and Wheelchair angler Paul Richardson fished from 6pm from our Wheelyboat catching 5 rainbows to 3lb on Beetles.
Thursday 21st May
15 Anglers caught 78 Rainbows to 6lb

13 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 6oz.
65 Rainbows to 6lb were returned
Bank and boat anglers had dozens of fish toping in front of them for most of the day. Lockwood was stocked at 6pm with 550 1lb 12oz to 6lb rainbows and with anglers catching up to 12 before we stocked the weekend sport should be excellent.
Rob Mclay fished on our last 4hour permit and caught 17 Rainbows to 6lb and keeping 1 of 5lb on Cats Whisker from the dam wall. Ian Morrison caught 7 from the woodside on Black Buzzer fished under an indicator. Keith Bunnett only fished for an hour from five to 6oclock and caught 5 to 4lb on small Black Klinkhamers.
Paul Blight fished from our Wheelyboat and caught 12 to 5lb on a verity of patterns and method’s fishing out from the woodside. Tim Grove caught 10 to 4lb 8oz on CDC Shuttle Cocks and Beetles with most of his fish coming wile drifting towards the middle of the dam. Mrs. Olive Murray caught 5 to 3lb on dry’s and emerges.
Friday 22nd May
28 Anglers caught 196 Rainbows to 6lb

153 Rainbows to 6lb 2oz were returned
Only two of the 28 anglers fishing failed to catch today with fish coming from all areas of the lake with most fish coming to dry’s.
Colin Brown caught 23 rainbows to 4lb from the high bank, jetty and dam on small black dry’s and buzzers
fished under an indicator. Keith Bunnett caught 8 on small black dry’s from the top of the woodside and jetty. Daren Parry and Alan Byfield both started at 5pm Darren caught 5 on foam Beetles keeping a lovely 6lb rainbow and Alan had 4 on Hoppers keeping 2 for 5lb.
John Mcgarrell and George Davison brought 40 fish to the boat John caught 32 of them and George 8 most of the fish were caught on small black dry’s. Husband and Wife Peter and Ann Mclean caught 23 fish between them on Yellow Fabs and Crunchers fished on sink tip lines. Peter had 17 and Ann 6 with Ann getting the heaviest fish at 4lb 8oz. Steve Trafford and J Sutherland caught 11 between them. Tim Grove brought 6 to the net and lost as many off, Tim’s best fish was 6lb 3oz and all were caught on black dry’s.
Seven anglers fished a North east region qualifying heat for the Civil service sports council finale to be held at Draycote water on the 11th June. The top two anglers Qualify, John Heppell won with 13 fish and Andy Sinclair was second with 11 fish, Good luck to both in the final. In total 50 fish were caught for a rod average of 7.1 and 15 were kept at an average weight of 2lb 12oz only one of the seven failed to catch.
Saturday 23rd May
16 Anglers caught 107 Rainbows to 5lb and one brown

90 Rainbows to 5lb and one Brown were returned.
Ben Race caught 15 rainbows on buzzers from the moorside. Mark Jones caught 14 rainbows to 4lb from the bottom of the moorside, Mark caught 8 on dry’s before the sun came out and 6 on Dawson’s Olive fished on an intermediate line. Keith Bunnett caught 7 rainbows and 1 Brown on Hoppers fishing along the moorside. Dave Walker caught 6 to 5lb from the top of the moorside. Ian Greensmith had five on buzzers from the top moorside block and Ian Fenton fished from 6pm caught 4 and lost 5 more off.
A Brown caught 19 to 3lb on Foam Beatles and small Black Parachutes fishing all over the lake.
Mike Ayton caught 21 rainbows to 3lb on Cormorants and Blobs fishing out from the jetty and along to the old slipway.
Lockwood opens at 8am and closes at 9.15pm
