The weather forecast for the coming week isn’t looking two good but anglers who can put up with the cold are having some good sport.

Sunday 17th

22 Anglers caught 162 Rainbows to 5lb
Rod Average 7.3
21 rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 8oz

Malcolm Jefferson put in a very cold day wading at the culvert it was worth the effort as he caught 39 rainbows to 8lb all on small black nomads.
P and A Jacobs caught 26 rainbows between them fishing out from the Woodside most were caught on Cats Whiskers. Jason Nunn caught 19 rainbows to 5lb on a small black nomad. Husband and wife Peter and Ann McLean caught 20 between them with Peter getting 15 of them.
Monday 18th

2 Anglers caught 6 Rainbows to 2lb

2 rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb

Only 2 anglers braved the conditions today both caught from the Moorside.

Tuesday 19th

Only one angler fishing today he caught 2 rainbows to 2lb 8oz, and commented on the amount of surface feeding fish and the size of the buzzers that were hatching off.

Wednesday 20th

6 Anglers caught 42 rainbows to 6lb

8 Kept for an average weight of 3lb 9oz

Boat anglers Malcolm and Lesley Jefferson caught 30 rainbows between them Malcolm had 16 to 5lb and Lesley 14 to 5lb Lesley kept 4 for 15lb 8oz. Boat angler Mrs Olive Murray had 9 to 6lb.

Thursday 21st

9 Anglers caught 30 rainbows to 4lb 8oz

11 Kept for an average weight of 2lb 3oz

What a day we had ice on the lake for most of the day.
Bank angler Colin brown caught 7 from the moorside. Ian Smith caught 5 to 4lb 8oz from the moorside and point.
Boat angler Tim grove caught 8 to 4lb fishing down the woodside.

Friday 22nd

250 Rainbows from 1lb 12oz to 6lb were stocked today.
8 Anglers caught 40 Rainbows to 4lb

7 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb1oz.

What a cold day it never got above 1c but felt like -6 in the wind
Only two anglers fished from the bank and they found it difficult with freezing rod rings to contend with.
Boat anglers had the same conditions but caught more fish. J Jefferson caught 14 on cats Whisker, Darren Jefferson caught 8, Tim Grove had 6 and husband and wife Peter and Ann McLean caught 5 with Ann getting 4 of them.

Saturday 16th

No one fishing today it’s been -1c all day but feels more like -6 in the 25 to 27mph east south easterly wind.
