The very strong gusty westerly wind and bright sunshine spoilt the fishing to day. Most of the moor side and dam were unfishable with 2ft waves rolling onto the bank. Only the overflow end of the dam and wood side were out of the wind.
Bank
Keith Bunnett caught five rainbows to 3lb fishing 50mt along from the overflow all his fish were caught on a very small Blood Worm.
Boats
We had four boats out all were fishing down the wood side Jason Nunn caught seven rainbows on Cats Whisker. Mrs Olive Murray and John McGarrell both had one but lost fish off as well.

Catch Return Monday 17th
11 Anglers caught 15 Rainbows to 3lb 8oz

We need the wind to drop or change direction, with most of the lake resembling the North Sea conditions have been tuff for anglers the gusting wind has made casting difficult. Only the overflow end of the dam, jetty, wood side and point have been fishable for bank anglers. Boats can fish from the overflow end of the dam to the point if they stay reasonably close to the shore.
Bank
Bank anglers caught up to three fish from the dam Rob Lincoln had the best fish at 3lb 8oz fishing Klinkhammers to rising fish from one of the few bits of sheltered water at the point. There were as many fish hooked and lost as were landed from the bank today.
Boats
Derek Hare and William Leitch took a boat at 1pm and caught ten rainbows between them fishing the sheltered water out from the wood side. Derek caught six and lost as many off on skinny black buzzer and William had four on Cats Whisker.

Catch Return Tuesday 18th
6 Anglers caught 25 Rainbows to 4lb 8oz.

8 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 14oz

Bank
Steve Mills caught eight on Cats Whisker and small Nomads from the dam he kept two for 7lb. Brian Gardiner caught four to 3lb 4oz on olive Buzzers from the jetty. Dennis Meek caught four on Orange Fritz from the high bank.

Boats
Les Davison caught five to 4lb 8oz fishing out from the jetty.

6 Anglers caught 27 rainbows to 6lb

Bank
Andrew Bogan caught six from the jetty and dam he kept one at 6lb and retuned five more two of which were around the 5lb mark. Colin Brown caught five from the dam and top of the moor side. Clive Simpson and Eric Bell both kept two.
Boat
Mrs Olive Murray caught 9 to 6lb on a Cut Throat Cat fishing out from the wood side.

3 Anglers caught 9 Rainbows to 3lb

The 30pmh plus wind kept anglers away but with it been a S.S.Westley most of the moor side and all of the wood side were fishable.
Bank
Eric Bell kept a nice 3lb rainbow from the top of the moor side.

Boat
Tim Grove caught eight rainbows and lost as many fishing out from the wood side on buzzers.

10 Anglers caught 32 Rainbows to 4lb
Rod average 3.2
9 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 8oz.

The wind spoilt things again today.
Bank
Bernard Fitzhugh caught eight to 3lb from the dam on Black Buzzer fished under an indicator. Dave Walker caught seven from the dam on Cats Whisker. Phil Stentiford caught three from the jetty on a Cut Throat Cat every one fishing the bank hooked fish but a lot were lost.

Boat
Mrs Olive Murray caught four on a Cut Throat Cat and lost eight more fish off. Tim Grove caught four on Buzzers and Paul Blight caught three on Cut Throat Cats.

9 Anglers caught 40 Rainbows to 9lb

The Brown Trout season started today

Conditions were good to day when the wind dropped although we have had some short heavy wintery showers. The last one at 3.30pm cleared the banks as the temperature dropped to 2c and we had snow and sleet for about 30min, afterwards the conditions went back to been good if a little chilly with fish showing from the overflow up along the wood side no one was here to take advantage though.
Bank
Ken Shaw fished at the top of the wood side and caught eight rainbows to 3lb on Black Buzzer. Dave Walker caught six rainbows to 9lb fishing near the overflow on a small Cats Whisker. Daren Parry had four fishing off the moor side block and Paul Good had four from the point.

Boats
Steve Mills caught eight on a small White Nomad fishing from the jetty to the point. Peter and Ann Mcleane caught five rainbows and one brown between them fishing out from the old slipway. Paul Drummond landed two and lost a few fishing Black Buzzers under an Indicator.
