The very strong WSW wind put most of the dam and nearly all of the moor side out of action with nearly all of the anglers fishing the wood side and point. Fish were still feeding hard on Beetles for most of the day along the wood side bank.

Peter Crow and Ernie Craster both caught six Dave Walker caught five from the top of the moor side.

Boats
Only two boats out Paul Drummond caught six rainbows keeping one for 3lb 8oz and returning two more around the 5lb mark. Paul caught all his fish on Black Buzzers fishing out from the wood side block. Les Davison caught six to 5lb on Olive Zonker and Cut Throat Cats fishing down the wood side.

12 Anglers caught 42 Rainbows to 3lb 12oz

Only four of the twelve anglers fishing failed to land fish today with most fish caught by boat anglers.

Les Wheatley caught ten rainbows to 3lb from the high bank on small black wets. Eric Bell kept two for 4lb 8oz from the dam wall.
Boats
Andrew Bogan caught eight. John Mann had seven keeping a nice 3lb 12oz rainbow. Steve Trafford had six and Steve Mills five.

Catch Return Tuesday 15th
33 Anglers caught 73 Rainbows to 4lb 12oz.

The day started with no wind at all and bright sunshine by lunch time we had high light cloud and a very changeable light wind. For the fifth day running the water was covered in beetles and the fish were feeding hard on them all over the lake and were had to tempt.

Junior Thomas Ayton caught seven from the top of the moor side on floating Foam Beetle. Jim Tate caught five from the moor side. Brian Gardiner caught three and lost three fishing near the overflow with buzzers fished under an indicator.

Boats
Stan Drummond and William Leitch caught fourteen to 4lb 8oz between them Stan caught on Black and Peacock Spiders and William on Black Buzzer most of their fish were caught off the moor side. Colin Peel and Keith Morley both caught five, Mick Hegarty Kept two for 9lb (4lb 12oz & 4lb 4oz) John Richardson Kept Three for 7lb 12oz.

It has been a very challenging day today Bright sunshine and a strong SE wind up to lunch time after lunch the wind drop off considerably the cloud started to build and the fish started feeding hard on the surface on small beetles. This made for a frustrating time for anglers with lots of feeding fish in front of them that were hard to tempt.

P Eastwood caught seven from the moor side on an old pattern a small Red Tag. Ian Morrison caught five and Micheal Kilvinton four from the top of the wood side.
Boat
Only one boat out today Mrs Olive Murray caught two on CDC Shuttlecocks fishing down the wood side.

Day permit R Homes caught eight rainbows to 10lb from the overflow end of the dam on Cut Throat Cats and Dawson’s Olive. Day Permit E Brown caught eight to 7lb three from the jetty and the rest from the old slipway on Pink Flexi Worm and Cats Whisker. Junior Chris Traves caught five from the jetty on Cut Throat Cat. Colin Brown caught four from the top of the wood side. Tony Shaw caught three to 4lb from the top of the wood side on Dawson’s Olive.

Mrs Olive Murray caught three on CDC Shuttlecock’s and lost seven more fish off.

24 Anglers caught 74 Rainbows to 5lb. 8oz

23 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 4oz.

Daren Parry caught nine rainbows and one brown, two rainbows and one brown on Beetles from the jetty and the rest from the moor side on Damsels fished very slowly along the bottom. Day permit Terry Appleby caught six keeping four 9lb 4oz from the culvert on Dawson’s Olive. Juinor Tomas Ayton caught Five to 5lb 8oz from the overflow end of the dam on Cut Throat Cats.

John McGarrell caught sixteen rainbows to 4lb fishing on the surface and with an intermediate along the wood side and out from the culvert. John caught on Dry’s, Nymphs and Small Lures. Tim Grove caught seven on Black Flashback Diawl Bach. Andrew Bogan caught six on Beetles.

26 Anglers caught 41 Rainbows to 9lb

22 Rainbows were kept at an average weight of 2lb 11oz

The day started very cold 3c with a frost on the ground. Anglers found it hard today we had a strong cold easterly blowing from the culvert to the wood side block all day. The fish were rising over most of the lake but proved difficult to catch anglers fishing small lures and nymphs had the best sport.

Ken Shaw caught five to 3lb from the moor side on buzzers. John Maguire kept four for 12lb 4oz best 7lb 6oz fishing from the overflow end of the dam on pink worm fished very slow and deep. Malcom Proudlock kept three for 9lb 12oz and Lee Cartmail four for 7lb. Gordon Rooks had a nice 4lb 4oz rainbow from the moor side.

Boat.
Mrs Olive Murray caught three to 9lb on damsels fishing out from the wood side. Chris Trafford fished on the last four hour permit and caught four rainbows fishing out from the culvert.
