It’s been a mixed week with flat calm days and very strong winds on others; fly hatches have been exceptional with the best olive hatches that I have seen in the 11years that I have been here.
Boat anglers George Sidgwick and John Anderson caught 38 George 21 on Hears Ear and Damsel and John 17 on Black Fritz, Gordon Swian and George English caught 35 between them keeping 8 for 17lb 8oz best 3lb 8oz. And A Yard and R Barron caught 15 keeping 5 for 18lb best a lovely 4lb 8oz brown.
Bank anglers had some good sport as well, John McGarrell caught 41 over 2 days on black hopper and buzzer, Colin Green had 14on Jack Frost and Graham hill 12 on Hears Ear.
With fish spread all over the lake and rising freely anglers can expect some good sport. Expect Hawthorns to living things up any time now. Anglers are reminded that floating patterns fished on any sinking line are only allowed for fish that are to be kept and not for catch & release.
