Picture Looking from the high bank towards the point on the 30th January.
If anyone has heard the rumours going around some tackle shops in the area stating that Lockwood is finished and won’t be opening this season. I can assure you that they are untrue and are malicious gossip started by people that don’t know what they are talking about.
Not long now to the start of a new season. Let’s hope for a lot of rain in the next three weeks to fill the lake up, the work that needs done on the dam should be completed this week allowing the water level to return to normal. As the snow and ice stopped fishing from the end of November to the middle of January anglers can expect more over wintered fish than normal. Sport on Opening Day should be excellent with 1100 rainbows from 1lb 8oz to 2lb 8oz, 80 from 3lb to 5lb and 20 from 10lb to 15lb stocked during the first seven days of the season. I will be updating the pictures weekly to show how the water level is rising.
